The village of Dervaig
We are a ten minute stroll from the centre of the village of Dervaig. The village has its own Post Office and well stocked shop where you’ll find just about everything you need. It is also home to the Bellachroy Hotel where meals and drinks are served all year around. Dervaig has its own bakery too.
A ten minute drive takes you to Amberllin, a fantastic restaurant serving local produce.
A five minute drive takes you to the Old Byre Heritage Centre. There is a sweet little tea room there too.
Cycle Mull is based in Dervaig and just a ten minute walk from the cottage. You can hire electric bikes directly from them. Cycle Mull website.
Eagles and Otters Mull
Mull Eagle Watch
Just a ten minute drive is the Mull Eagle Watch hides. Here you can watch nesting Golden Eagles and the famous White Tailed Eagles. The eagles and otters are considered one of the main attractions to Mull. Read more here Mull Eagle Watch
The Isle of Mull has over 300 miles of coastline, a lot of which can support otters, hence the island has one of the highest densities of otters in the country. Mull has a wide range of other fauna and flora, making it a nature-lover’s paradise. Most visitors are attracted by the not-to-be-missed opportunity of having lunch with the 2,000-plus pairs of Puffins that breed on the island’s plateau of short turf. The popularity of this ‘Puffin Therapy’, where one can sit within a few feet of these iconic little Sea Parrots, remains as prevalent as ever.
One of the most beautiful beaches you will find in the UK. White sands and clear blue sea. The cottage is about 20 minutes from the beach.
